Forty plates were served at Schultz Cafe for the Polk Commercial Club’s regular monthly meeting. A. E. Sundberg and W. Wright reported about half of the $200 budget raised. Guest speaker Burr of Central City spoke on common problems with Lincoln Tele phone Company entertainment followed, drawing about 100 attendees. Committees were named for spring activities and projects including cleanup and band duties.

Orville Jones of Osceola named a Union Pacific 4 H scholarship winner to the University of Nebraska College of Agriculture. Betty Leigh McMeekin of Shelby is named alternate from Polk County. Scholarships are $100 each, with half for first semester and $25 for each of two following semesters.
