Deeper Life Meetings At First Baptist Polk

The First Baptist Church of Polk hosts Deeper Life Meetings with Rev. Roger Burke from Sunday March 16 to Wednesday March 19. Two Sunday services at 10:30 AM and 7:30 PM, and daily 7:30 PM services Monday to Wednesday, with special music and nursery provided. Burke is pastor of Stromsburg Baptist Church and delivers messages to help growth in Christian life. Community invited to attend.

World Day of Prayer Observed at Swede Plain Church

Friday service at Swede Plain United Methodist drew 45 attendees with participants from Polk United Methodist Trinity Lutheran Arborville Congregational and Swede Plain United Methodist. Coffee and cookies followed. Mr and Mrs Bill Hoffman of Ft. Sill Oklahoma visited Polk relatives over the weekend.

Community Pancake Supper Planned by Local Club

The Pork Community Club hosts a pancake supper at the Community Hall this Saturday from 5 p.m. menu includes pancakes sausage and drink. Prices are 1.25 for adults and 0.75 for children 12 and under. Proceeds fund remodeling with two year scope costing 10 to 15 thousand dollars. Members begin street level renovations today and a volunteer drive tops the event.
