Only one candidate filed for the Polk school board race as terms expire for Richard Sealey Jr. and Dale Lindburg, with four seats total and a Friday March 13 filing deadline. Bruce Cowgill will present a wildlife program at Polk Community Hall on March 17 at 8 00 pm with a short film and an emphasis on wildlife beyond shooting.

Co op Oil Reports Savings Over 100000

The 43rd annual meeting of Farmers Union Co op Oil Association of Polk County met at Polk Community Hall. President Neal Sandell led the session with speakers Senator Maurice Kremer Adolph Helbusch Cliff Wegner. Net savings reached 100131.65 dollars, and changes to articles and by laws were discussed including a name change to Cooperative Oil Incorporated. Duane Burney was elected to a five year board term, replacing Sandell.
