Sophomore Faculty Basketball Event at Polk High

The Polk High gym hosts a varsity faculty basketball game on Thursday March 4 at 6 30 p m. A cake raffle and bake sale accompany the event. Earlier, a freshmen versus super sophomores game precedes the main matchup. Tickets cost 25 and 60 cents.

Funeral services for Lee Bayer 65 will be held Friday March 5 at 2:00 P M at First Baptist Church Polk Rev Irvin Stauffer will officiate and interment will be in Polk Cemetery He died of an apparent heart attack Tuesday morning He was born May 3 1905 in Denmark and came to the United States at age four He was a member of Worldwide Unitarian Fellowship and had served as Polk postmaster starting January 16 1971 Survivors include his wife Vivian one sister and four stepchildren

Obituary Edward Kisler 72 retired car penter dies in Aurora

Edward Kisler aged 72 died February 22 in an Aurora hospital after a cardiac attack while using a snowblower. Funeral services were held February 26 at Higby Mortuary in Aurora with Rev. Mervyn Davidson officiating and interment in Aurora cemetery. He was born June 17 1898 in Arborville and lived in York County Polk and Marquette before moving to Aurora. He is survived by his wife Florence a son Glen four daughters a brother a sister 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Marriage of Sharon Adelson and Richard Alderson

Sharon Adelson daughter of Mr and Mrs Leslie Adelson and Richard Alderson son of Mr and Mrs Clifford Alderson of Grand Island were married February 14 at the First Presbyterian Church in Grand Island.
