Lindahl Family Reunion Held at Pawnee Park Columbus

The sixteenth Lindahl family reunion gathered at Pawnee Park Columbus with 75 attendees. Local guests included Grant Johnson Ilof Ostberg Dean Ostberg and families Hugo Person Wayne Person Robert Lindahl Hollis Stromberg and Olga Graves among others from Ames Central City Aurora Grand Island Lincoln Omaha Wausa Columbus Oakland Hebron Laramie Wyoming. The oldest observed were Vera Johnson 86 of Oakland and Cora Lindahl 83 of Central City.

Mr and Mrs Leslie Adelson and others from Wichita visited Columbus. Donald Haggart and Jack Klingenberg joined Mr and Mrs M G Lindburg for a June 11 dinner. Rudolph Gustafson attended his granddaughter Diane Weimer’s wedding in Lincoln on June 10 and stayed with the Weimer family. Ralph Deal and Jim visited in Delores and Gary Stohl with Sandra Hyde visited in Lincoln.

SCS Structures Stop Destructive Run offs After Heavy Rains

Polk County reports heavy rains causing damage in some areas while others remained unaffected. Local conservation efforts include two dams in Martin Jones and Walt Jones pastures to curb runoff and protect lowlands. Farmers built channels and terraces with county cooperation to reduce erosion and protect roads and cropland. Plan now for future downpours and promote soil and water conservation.

A Social Security representative from Lincoln will visit Polk County on June 26 on the second floor of the courthouse from 9 00 to 11 30 a m. Local Visitors and Hospital Calls Around Central City

Mr and Mrs Rudolph Gutsafson visited Mrs Edith Benson at Litzenberg Memorial hospital in Central City Friday afternoon. Mrs Anna Eisler and Mrs Dennis Jacobsen and Dwight, Mrs LaVaughn Adelson and boys were Saturday evening guests of Mr and Mrs Clarence Johnson. Mr and Mrs Dof Ostberg called on Nelson King Sunday afternoon. Nelson was home from Saturday afternoon till Monday morning from the Central City hospital. Mrs Olga Graves of Central City visited Mr and Mrs Hof Ostberg Sunday evening.
