New Enlarged District 72 Approves 55000 Dollar Budget
Ninety six voters attend the recessed annual school board meeting in the high school auditorium. The board accepted a 55 000 dollar budget for 1953 54 with a 14 plus mill levy and pay for bus drivers. The election of a new nine member board produced Willard Adelson Chas Norquest Everett Green P W Aker Floyd Merchant and Leale Adelson.

Mrs Henry Schulze Dies After Lingering Illness
Mrs Henry Schulze died Monday afternoon at St Francis Hospital Grand Island after a lingering illness. She is survived by her husband one daughter and three sons. She was 59. Funeral services will be held at Brauer Funeral Home at 1:80 and Immanuel Lutheran Church at 2:00 with Rev C W Long officiating.

The Bankers and the Butchers split their two games with the Butchers winning 14 to 11 in a rain reschedule. Tuesday night the Bankers surged 20 to 10 to share first place with the Oilers while the Oilers beat the Legion 6 to 2 behind Bud Bolton, Peterson, and Bills. The Swede Plain Bible School week ended with a record enrollment of 41 and a Sunday program by the children highlighting songs and memory verses.
