The Swede Plain WSCS held its June gathering at the church parlors with newly elected president Mrs. Lester Widga presiding. Mrs. Ted Dittmer received a life membership pin as Joyce Widga played a piano solo. Program leaders Kur tis Flodman and Mrs. Walter Stohl, song and dialogue performances followed, and lunch was served by hostesses Mrs. Arthur Samuelson and Mrs. Lyle Widga.

Auxiliary Holds Pot Luck Meeting and installs officers
American Legion Auxiliary met in the Legion Hall Monday evening for a pot luck supper with thirteen members attending. Velma Stephens opened the meeting. Fern Meyers became president with a slate including Verlene Anderson as vice president and Donna Werner as secretary and Theresa Van Ostrand as treasurer. The group voted to donate five dollars to the Recreation Fund and planned the Legion Steak Feed for June 28 with Verlene Anderson as chair. Refreshments were served by Velma Stephens Fern Myers and Lauretta Neuhaus.

Klingsporn Earns Doctorate From University of Nebraska
Klingsporn received a doctor of philosophy degree in psychology at the University of Nebraska commencement held June 12 at Pershing Auditorium in Melvern. He earned BA and MA degrees in 1957 and 1962 and will join Wichita State University as a psychology staff member after moving with his wife Arlene Hubka and three children.

Vacation Bible School Closes at Polk Baptist Church
The Polk Baptist Church wrapped up two weeks of Vacation Bible School with an average daily attendance of 48. Teachers and helpers totaled 15 each day as pupils contributed 105.89 dollars to the Baptist General Conference Missions. Closing program Sunday at 8 p.m. showcased craft work.
