Vacation Bible School closes at Polk Methodist Church
The Polk Methodist Church held a closing program for Vacation Bible School on Sunday morning May 30, with daily classes May 24 through May 28. The event drew 49 pupils under Superintendent Mrs Harold Anderson, featuring a full staff of teachers and assistants, plus song leader Mrs Edward Saylor and pianists Cheryl Anderson and Kay Nielsen.

Mrs Larsen Dies at 49 After Illness
Mrs Rodney Larsen died May 31 at home after an extended illness at age 49. She leaves husband and three children Max Jane and JoAnn and a brother Ralph Donelson and sister Mrs C Gordon Carlson. Funeral services were June 3 from the Baptist church in Stromsburg.

A piano recital is set for June 11 at 8 p.m. and 250 cheerleaders attended a Chadron State College short course May 30 to June 3 covering drills and crowd psychology.

A double ring ceremony featured a backdrop of white snap dragons and blue carnations. The bride wore a white lace gown with chapel train and fingertip veil. Attendants included matron of honor Mrs Shirley Harvey and best man Jim Rookstool. After a reception for 45 guests at the bride’s parents home the newlyweds left for a trip to Colorado Springs and plan to live in Polk where the groom farms and works at Fredrickson Implement Co.
