Ames and Idaho relatives honor Lindahl family

Mr and Mrs Clarence Lindahl and family of Ames Iowa hosted relatives from Iowa and Idaho including Mr and Mrs Bob Lindahl Anita Webber Hollis Stromberg and families Mr and Mrs Lester Graves and family and others in their home. The guests left Friday for Kearney after a Friday evening gathering with the Johnsons.

Bates Family Farewell Honored at Methodist Church

More than 100 members and friends gathered at the Polk church parlors Sunday evening to honor Rev. A. C Bates and his wife with a farewell reception. Albert Sundberg served as toastmaster as gifts were exchanged and a luncheon was served amid flowers and candlelit tables.

Nelson Exstrand Family Reunion Held in Stromsburg

The Nelson Exstrand reunion met at Swanson's Hall Stromsburg on Sunday June 12 with a large dinner and a business meeting in the afternoon. Frank N Larson born April 26 1876 near Des Moines Iowa died June 9 1949 at Stromsburg hospital at age 73 years 1 month 14 days He lived in Polk County Nebraska most his life and farmed He married Reena Cole March 23 1904 and had five children Leonard preceded him in death in 1946 He served in the US Army during the Spanish American War and later retired to Polk Burial was in Clarks Cemetery with funeral services held June 13 at the Methodist Church.

Fjell Widga Wedding Solemnized At Swede Home Church

Polk County Leads Nation in Savings Bonds Drive

Polk County has reached 189 percent of its $126000 quota for the Savings Bonds Opportunity Drive with $238331.25 subscribed as of June 4. Nebraska aims to be first state to meet its quota and exceed the four million remaining as the drive ends June 30. Leland R. Hall notes Nebraska bonds near three quarters of a billion.
