Miss Bonnie Burhoop bride to be of Larry Hoffman was honored at a Sunday shower at the home of Mrs. Mildred Richardson in York. Guests played guessing games and bride’s bingo before a lunch prepared by Mrs. Richardson and assistants.

Farewell for Ruth Kroger in Polk Park Picnic

Polk Woman’s Club members held a Friday picnic supper in Polk Park as a farewell for Ruth Kroger. A gift was given to her before she leaves for Sioux Falls South Dakota to work as house mother in a resident home for employed women.

Polk News Family Visits and Memorial Day Gatherings

Local residents shared visits and meals in Polk County. Harold Jensen and family dined with Paul Strand. Earl Stevens hosted Andrea and Brian Smith with Donald Tallon’s family. Rolland Swanson and A E Swanson visited relatives in Newman Grove for Memorial Day. Mary Lindburg stayed overnight with Andrea Smith.

Reseal program continued for corn and 1961 crop calls

USDA announces continued price support loans for the 1965 crop corn in farm storage under reseal. 1964 1963 and 1962 crops under reseal remain eligible, with CCC calling loans on 1961 crop reseal as needed to meet sales. Delivery instructions for 1961 crop corn will follow official guidance.

Polk Happenings: Week End Visits Across Texas

Mr and Mrs Robert Willits Bev Pam and Allen and Mrs Martin Lundstrom spent the weekend in Texas. Mrs Lundstrom visited with her daughter in Dallas. The Willits visited Killeen with their daughter Rodney Johnson. Pam and Bev stayed with Lyle Johnson Thursday. Guests at the Willits home included Tom Hetzer and family Jim Bob Rahrs Neal Van Housen. Mary Fern Myers was a weekend guest of Mrs John Myers.

Polk Community Memoirs Honor Baccalaureate Guests

Local residents and relatives gathered at Polk Community Hall after Baccalaureate services honoring Pat Flodman as Mr and Mrs Carroll Flodman hosted about 50 guests. Visitors included Mr and Mrs Wallace Junge and multiple family groups from Cheyenne Fort Leonard Wood and Sioux Falls as well as ill relative Mrs Edna West.

Natalie Hahn named to Dean's Advisory Board 1966 67

Dean Trotter of the Department of Home Economics selected Natalie Hahn a University of Nebraska junior to serve on the Dean's Advisory Board for the 1966 67 school year. She will represent Home Economics Journalism.
