Nebraskans enjoyed a broad weather mix with rain sleet hail and snow all in one day. By nightfall two inches of snow covered the ground and temperatures fell below freezing. Frost damage was light, funerals aside, Memorial Day hopeful with forecast gains. Memorial Day visits drew thousands to cemeteries in Polk County as former residents returned home. The holiday weekend brought heavy rains Sunday totaling over two inches in parts of the county.

The Navy confirms Platoon Sergeant Harold W.
