Polk County Escapes Storm Damage and Injury
A Pacific storm swept Polk County with 15 minutes of heavy winds and a dense dust cloud followed by rain around eight o clock. Power service briefly interrupted. West of Osceola near Swedenburg school a car and a truck collided injuring four people two elderly and two younger occupants all residents of Omaha. They were taken by ambulance to an Omaha hospital.

Tourists Fleece Report From Highway 30 Zoo Scam
Local authorities received multiple reports from tourists traveling west along Highway 30 and 92 about a makeshift free zoo near Central City. Visitors are lured into a dice game by two alleged come-ons and then fleeced for amounts from seventy dollars to 360. The scheme has allegedly thrived since Memorial Day with snakes foxes and strangers used to attract victims.
