Mrs. Ben Peterson died in a highway 66 auto crash west of Hordville when her car struck gravel and veered into a ditch. Funeral services were held at Branec Funeral Home and Polk Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband Ben, a sister Mrs Orlie Miller, and brothers Mervin and Kenneth Samuels of Chappel.

Mothers Tea highlights at Country Womans Club gathering
The Country Woman's Club hosted A Mothers' Tea at Mrs Roger Gustafson's home on Thursday afternoon. Attendees included Mmes Willard Adelson Dean Ostberg and Walter Stohl with readings and music. Special recognition went to guest mothers including Mrs Frank Adelson oldest Mrs Glen Thomas youngest and Mrs C R Peterson from the greatest distance. A two course lunch was served by Mrs Ostberg and Mrs Leslie Adelson with decor by summer flowers. 48 members and guests attended. Plans for a club family picnic June 28 at Polk Park were announced. Rev Edick Anderson preached at First Baptist Columbus and was hosted by Mr and Mrs Kenneth E Rockford. Barbara Walker of Milford visited Jeanelle Kroger Friday.
