County Board of Equalization to Meet June 9 10 11 1936

County Clerk John J. Anderson says the board will convene to hear assessment objections on June 9 10 and 11 1936. Objectors must present claims for consideration. A marriage license was issued at Aurora to Christopher Abraham of Utica and Mabel Paben of Hampton. The bride is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Ben Paben, former local residents.

Polk Nebraska Trustees Adopt 1936 37 Expense Estimate

The Village of Polk Nebraska schedules its fiscal year ending May 1 1937 with an estimated total revenue of 9776 54 for 1936. Budget items include street 200 general and incidental 2000 library 350 intersection paving linking fund 1500 interest on intersection paving 150 fire protection 100 park and amusement 200 and water bond fund 500. A four week publication in Pork Progress precedes the July 7 1936 appropriation vote by the chairman and board of trustees in the council room.

Mrs Ed Schultz and Harold visit Wood River. Mayor Brauer on business trip to Iowa and Illinois. Journalists plan a York district meeting June 10 at McCloud hotel. Memorial services held at Baptist Church with sermon by Rev Neal. The weekend campout on the Platte River included arthur Peterson Arloff Williams Dana Westfall Arthur Wurtz Lawrence Sundberg. Polk loses 6 4 to Marquette in a Sunday ball game with umpire Will Kroger.

Julia Stevens and Lawrence Sundberg wed quietly in Osceola at the M E Church. she is the daughter of Theo Stevens.
