Veteran Civil War Veteran Sees 99th Birthday and Family Ties
George Fisher born October 6, 1837 in Germany celebrated reaching age 99. He served three years in the Union Army under Generals McClellan and Grant, fought at Williamsburg and Deep Bottom, moved to Nebraska in 1884, and raised six children. Now living with his daughter in Aurora.

Mr and Mrs Russell Lindburg and son from Springfield Illinois spent Decoration Day in Stromsburg then returned home. Osceola plans two days of entertainment at the Polk County Fair Grounds under fair association auspices. Auto races featuring 24 professional drivers headline the event, with daring acts and auto polo.
