Minnesotan Dies Saving Daughter on Railroad Track

Stewar D Farmer 29 of Canton Minnesota died after rescuing his 4 year old daughter Luynne when their car stalled on railroad tracks west of Osceola fairgrounds. The freight train struck as Mrs Farmer escaped. Farmer lost a leg and died after hospital transfusions. The child and Mrs Farmer survived. He was a schoolteacher.
