County Commissioners Hear Property Tax Value Complaints
Official Proceedings of Polk County Nebraska detail hearings on assessed property values from April 1 to May 26 1966 with seven formal complaints and three appearances. The board reduced assessments on five properties and left two unchanged and recessed to August for levy setting.

Flodman Family Visits Spanning Stromsburg Osceola
Sunday forenoon calls by Mrs. Julia Flodman and Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Flodman occurred at the Lawrence Lind home in Stromsburg. They dined with Curtis Flodman and later visited Fred Johnson at Good Samaritan Home in Osceola and joined Leroy Johnson for coffee there. Swede Plain WSCS Holds Regular Meeting July 13
The Swede Plain WSCS met in the church on July 13 with Mrs. Lyle Widga as devotional leader. Presiding was Mrs. Lester Widga. Program leaders were Mrs. Alvin Dahlin and Mrs. Lester Widga. The topic was Where the Women Are. Janice Widga and Leilani Stohl sang a duet. Eight ladies read articles on the Eight Points of the Compass. Joyce Widga played a piano solo. Rev. Patten gave benediction. Hostesses Nettie Carlson Arthur Samuelson and Wallace Lind served lunch. Lyle Miller of Salina Kans was a caller in Floyd Miller’s home Monday afternoon.
