The Busy Bees 4-H club met at Henry Kisler on July 16 at 2 PM. The secretary read roll and minutes and all members were present. Becky Stevens spoke on 4-H camp experiences. They discussed poisoning first aid and bandage application, and inspect aprons in sewing. Mrs Kisler served lunch.
Social round in Polk area centers on Harless gatherings with Punta Gorda visitors and out of state relatives. Attendees include Shenk, Swenson, Sandell, Porter, and Glasser families among others, with birthday celebrations and a neighborhood picnic noted.
Beverly Ekdahl and Larry Coover were married by Rev. John Coover in a 7 p.m. ceremony at the Evangelical Free Church of Polk. The couple, with 200 relatives and friends present, will reside on a Polk-area farm after a southeastern state honeymoon.
Eric Otte served as emcee for the York County 4-H Share-The-Fun contest held at Gresham on Tuesday evening July 14. Otte is the reigning 4-H club king and earned a trip to the 4-H camp at Halsey.
