The Polk Progress notes its second class post office status in Polk Nebraska under the 1879 act. It lists subscription rates: Nebraska four dollars per year, elsewhere five dollars, six months three dollars, three months two dollars, and single copy ten cents. Card of Thanks ten cents per line with minimum one dollar. obituary poetry ten cents per line. Advertising, per column inch fifty six cents.

Social Security Rep Schedule For Osceola Visit

A Lincoln social security representative will visit Osceola on July 24 to meet from 9 00 to 11 30 a m on the second floor of the Courthouse. The note calls for part time workers and urges obtaining a social security number before job applications. The Lincoln office should be contacted. Polk WSCS Centennial Program Returns to Church

The Women's Society for Christian Service met July 6 after noon at the church for a centennial program titled Ladies Aid of Long Ago. Thirty eight members and guests attended as old songs were sung and a history of the church was read noting it will mark its 90th year next year.
