Revered Cohagen 50th Wedding Anniversary Observed

Rev. and Mrs. D. A. Cohagen marked their 50th anniversary at the Free Methodist Church in Modesto California hosted by their children G I Beckwith Seattle Marvin Buena Park David Modesto and Donna Modesto. The couple wed June 14 1917 in Albion Nebraska and later moved to Washington where he graduated Seattle Pacific College in 1922 serving 44 years as a Free Methodist pastor in Washington Oregon and California.

County Proceedings Describe Loaders and Appointments

County officials discussed leasing a new loader for Commissioner District No 1 and renewed two loaders and a maintainer lease with The Island Supply Company. Anton Pokorney was appointed to the Polk County Service Coordinating Committee and Carl R Johnson to oversee Natural Disaster Program paperwork. The board approved tuition fund disbursement and veterans service band membership. The session adjourned until July 18, 1967.

Mr and Mrs Ollie Johnson and granddaughter Virginia Lytle of Kansas visited Mr and Mrs Leslie Adelson on Monday evening. Mr and Mrs Jerry Ruzicka of Los Angeles, California called on Rolland Stromberg Friday afternoon.

Polk County Cancer Crusade Nets $2084

The 1967 Polk County Cancer Crusade ended with a total contribution of $2084.36, reported by county co chairmen Mrs Perry and Mrs Sapp. Polk contributed $200.65 including memorial gifts under Mrs Glen Babcock. rural Pleasant Home gave $144.26 via Mrs Irvin Anderson. The American Cancer Society thanks all volunteers and contributors. funds support research education and service projects with free films and materials for organizations.
