Peru residents honored Colonel Thomas J. Majors and his brother Wilson as they marked eighty eight and eighty six years, with hundreds attending at Majors home. Speakers included T. J. Trust Fund Created for Masonic Homes in Nebraska

James F. Ferguson of San Diego has set aside seventy five thousand dollars for a trust to be split evenly between the Masonic-Eastern Star home for children at Fremont and the Nebraska Masonic home for the elderly at Plattsmouth. The fund will provide Ferguson, his wife Mrs. Ferguson, and one daughter with income during their lives, and revert to the institutions at the death of the family.

Nebraska Man Named Director of the Budget

President Hoover appointed Col. J C Roop of Nebraska as director of the budget succeeding Herbert M Lord whose resignation took effect weeks ago. Roop is in Santo Domingo where he worked with the Dawes commission reorganizing that nation's finances. He had previously served as assistant director for a year before entering private business.
