Auto collision near David City injures Janssen family

E C Janssen and daughter Mary along with Arnold Beckman and daughter Evelyn were hurt when a Dodge sedan struck Janssen’s Chrysler head on about five miles from David City after a Fourth of July visit. Injuries included a cracked rib and cuts. insurance does not cover Janssen’s damaged car.

Obituary Notice for John Gestrine of Stromsburg Nebr

John Gestrine born February 14 1858 in Okelbo Sweden came to the United States in 1882. He married Hulda Stohl on June 19 1894 and they had thirteen children. He died July 1 1929 at age 71 years 4 months and 17 days. Funeral services were held July 3 at the Polk Swedish Mission church with burial in Polk cemetery. He is survived by his wife, children, two sisters, one brother and many relatives and friends.

Chrysler Crash Severs Path in Hampton Road Collision

A Chrysler coupe driven by Paul Strand of this place collided with a Wall & Shockey Motor Co. truck near Utica Seward late Saturday night. Strand and passenger Josephine Berggren escaped injury. car damage valued at 175 dollars. The pair had been returning from Seward when they met the parked truck with no warning lights and avoided a collision with an oncoming car by striking the truck. Insurance covers the damage.
