Anton Westergreen born in Lund Sweden on March 16 1869 died July 1 1938 at age 69 years 3 months 14 days He immigrated to the United States in 1887 lived with his brother Peter Westergreen in South Chicago married Hannah Peterson in 1897 and had seven children six living He moved to a Benedict area farm in 1907 joined Bethel then Zion Lutheran Churches and the Benedict Brotherhood He is survived by his wife six children twelve grandchildren two nieces and one nephew with eight brothers and two sisters deceased Services were held at Zion Lutheran Church Benedict with Rev Mortensen officiating and burial in Bethel Cemetery He was known to many as the father of Mrs Orville Mickey and Mrs Otto Fleming of the city

Wheat harvest expands in Polk County as rains aid crop
Polk County farmers report the wheat harvest in full swing with binders and soon to be combines. Wheat tests run 54 to 59 with quality better than expected and local elevators operating by night. Rain aid reduced rust fears though hail damaged fields near Osceola and David City. Benedict saw five inches of rain in under an hour.
