Farmer Uses Hopper Dozer on His Binder
Edwin C. Swanson, 2 miles west of Osceola, harvests grasshoppers with a hopperdozer mounted on his binder. The device catches hoppers in a trough filled with water and oil, killing them by inversion as they fall from the platform. Swanson drains the catch to minimize liquid loss, noting the method can reduce field grasshopper populations and may be as effective as older hopper catchers.

Miss Iona L Green driving struck a tree on Cemetery Road east of Stromsburg injuring her with a broken collar bone leg and other injuries.
