Corn Loan Totals Grow in Polk County
The AAA office reports 545 corn loans covering about 700000 bushels in the county over the last three months. Fourteen purchase agreements add 25000 bushels. Loans run through June 30 1949 and moisture rules tighten after April. The Grand Island county meeting scheduled for January 27 28 is postponed due to road and weather conditions.

Farmers Elevator Annual Meeting Held at High School
The annual Farmers Elevator meeting was held at the high school auditorium January 19. Ladies of the Methodist church served the noon meal. Frank Bolton was chosen director replacing Rudolph Nyberg whose term expired. Four percent interest will be paid on capital stock. About 150 were in attendance.
Husband of Former Polk Lady Injured in Fall
Mr and Mrs J L Stouffer learned from daughter Mrs Galen Breshears of Albuquerque NM that her husband was seriously hurt Tuesday in a fall from a two story building where he worked. He suffered a broken pelvis and additional injuries. Breshears was formerly Ruth Stouffer.
