Sunday Socials Gather in Local Homes Across Communities

A string of visiting couples and families shared meals and greetings this Sunday and Monday. Mr and Mrs Lloyd Widga visited Mr and Mrs Robert Willits, while Mr and Mrs Dwight Burney dined with Mr and Mrs Gilbert Lampshire. Elmer Garner and Susan from Hordville joined Mrs Em ory Cramer to meet their new grandson Timothy Lee, son of Charles and Emory Cramer. Archer guests Mr Roger Hawke and Jeffrey dined with Mrs Wallace Sandell's family. Arcadia hosts Mr and Mrs Harold Miller for Thursday coffee after Odd Fellows. Henry Reed’s Sunday dinner at Stromsburg welcomed L B Blase Will Garling Martin Hoffman Sr Wayne Ramsey and Lyn.

Miss Patricia Stufft and Dale Carlson Wed in Polk Church

Miss Patricia Ann Stufft daughter of Mr and Mrs James Stufft Polk and Dale Allen Carlson son of Mr and Mrs Glen L Carlson Hordville were married in Immanuel Lutheran Church near Polk on December 21 at 7 30 PM. The candle lit double ring ceremony drew 300 guests with a red and white floral decor and Christmas trees flanking the altar. The bride wore satin pean and Chantilly lace with pearls and sequins as her veil rested on a sequined crown. The groom wore white dinner jackets with red boutonnieres. Attendants included Cheryl Johnson maid of honor and sisters Sally and Debbie Stufft along with Beverly Glasser. The reception occurred in the church basement with a three tier cake and elaborate serve lines. The couple both hold Polk ties with the bride a Polk High School graduate now employed in Lincoln and the groom a Polk senior.

Mrs Alvina Lind Mrs Dean Donelson and children of Central City Mrs Wallace Lind and Le ann Mrs Roland Bodine were Saturday afternoon guests of Miss Emma Anderson at Stromsburg in honor of her birthday. The self invited guests brought a lunch with them. Mr and Mrs Leslie Adelson were Lincoln visitors from Saturday until Monday. They were guests at a wedding Sunday where their daughter Judy was an attendant. They also visited Mr and Mrs Philip Johnson and Dean Ostberg at the Bryan Memorial hospital.
