The Swede Plain MYF held its meeting January 8 at 7:30 p m in church parlors led by vice president Joyce Widga. The Swede Plain WSCS met at the church Jan. 11 with Mrs. Lennis Lind leading devotions. President Mrs. Lester Widga opened the business meeting. Program leaders were Mrs. Donald Dahlin and Mrs. Lester Widga. A piano solo was played by Mrs. Willard Adelson. A skit titled A Time for Reflection was presented with Mrs. Donald Dahlin as leader. Readings by Mrs. Walter Stahl Mrs. Elmer Garner and Mrs. Lloyd Widga followed. Mrs. Lyle Widga delivered two readings Happy New Year Recipe and Winter in the Country. The closing hymn A Mighty Fortress Is Our God was sung by all. Hostesses were Mrs. Robert Clymer and Mrs. Reuben Ehn.

Silver Wedding Anniversary Celebrated At Johnson Home
Thirty relatives gathered Sunday afternoon January 15 to observe the Johnsons silver wedding anniversary. A mock wedding was the feature of the afternoon with a white bell cake bearing a silver 25. Blue and white colors appeared on the cake mints and ice cream served by Martha Larson and Mrs Raymond Sundberg mother of the bride.
