Hordville Bulldogs extend nine game win streak
Hordville defeated Belgrade 85 54 on Friday to push the Bulldogs to nine straight wins this season. Larry Johnson led with 28 points followed by 24 from Craig Erickson and 15 from Bernie Cox. Belgrade’s Arnie Hellbusch scored 19 and Ron Robinson 11. Hordville led 18-9 at first quarter and 72-40 by the fourth. The night also saw a Hordville reserve win 34-29 and a volleyball result 2-0.

Fourth Generation Opens Polk Area Miller Farm
The Miller farm one mile west of Polk is now occupied by the fourth generation. Henry Miller homesteaded land in 1876 and part was railroad land bought for five dollars an acre. The farm has stayed in the Miller family: Henry, Will, Orlie, and now Dwayne.

Polk High chemistry students and others will hear Rene Evard Visiting Scientist from the University of Nebraska speak February 4 on two topics Solutions and Ionization and biochemistry. Evard holds a biochemistry major from Michigan State University and has five years of college teaching experience. Bradshaw high school students will hear Evard February 4 in the morning.

Music Clinic Draws Three Polk Schools To Albion Event
Thirty music students and instructor Hans Willadsen from Polk High attended the 19th Choral Clinic at Albion over Friday and Saturday. Twenty six area schools joined rehearsals and workshops while the Polk girls trio with Arlyce Lind Dee Willits and Gail Giles and Linda Myers as accompanist performed I Left My Heart In San Francisco at the Saturday concert. Nine hundred fourteen singers directed by Warner Smig from the University of Colorado Boulder filled the hall with a closing Battle Hymn of the Republic. Accompanist was Robert Strickland. Local attendees included Max Jones Donette Dean Myers Jolene Lloyd Widge Willard Adelson Marvin Fredrickson Walter Stohl Lyle Johnson Bill Lavelle Irene Carlson and Lyle Widga Ted Otte and family.
