Rainbow Rebekah Lodge Installs Officers for New Year

Officers of the Rainbow Rebekah Lodge were installed at the regular meeting on Thursday evening. Pearl Leu became Noble Grand, Josephine Strand Vice Grand, Helen Bayer secretary, and Irene Kinburg treasurer, with Arlene Eklund receiving a Past Noble Grand pin. The install ing officers came from the Osceola Lodge.

Polk Cubs Win Goldenrod Tourney

The Polk Cubs defeated the Stromsburg Vikings 73 to 65 to claim the Goldenrod Conference tournament trophy. Max Kroger led Polk with 24 points and 25 rebounds while Bob Rahrs added 20 points, and Dennis Sealey contributed 16. Stromsburg's Dave Anderson led the Vikings with 21 points. Greg Wilhelms added 15.

Hordville Bulldogs Win CNC Title in Narrow Final

The Hordville Bulldogs defeated Giltner 75 to 67 to claim the CNC Conference tournament championship. L. Johnson led with 24 points, Bernard Cox added 19, and Ron Jensen scored 18 as the team notched its 13th straight win.

Long-Time Polk Resident Theodore Larson Dies

Theodore Larson aged 81 died suddenly at his Polk home Sunday evening. Born on a farm west of Polk near Stark, he married Ellen Nelson on December 23, 1908 and lived in Polk since. An honored Mason with Bronze Jordan medal and 40 year pin, he was preceded in death by his wife two weeks earlier. Services were held at First Baptist Church Polk with Masonic graveside rites at Lindale Cemetery near Hordville.

Tailoring Workshop Planned for February

Mrs Verland Widga underwent surgery at Central City hospital Monday morning. Darwin Neuhaus was released from Central City hospital Monday after several days there last week. Mrs Elwood Tewell was discharged from York General Hospital Tuesday morning and returned home. Clarence Bodine was admitted to Aurora hospital Monday.
