Mr and Mrs Will Kroger returned Monday from a California trip marked by the Rose Tournament and Rose Bowl game on TV. They visited relatives in Los Angeles and with the Roscoes in Oakland and Dr Orville Kroger in Concord. En route home they stopped at the Boulder Hoover Dam and logged 4748 miles.

Polk Cubs Split Week With Osceola and Stromsburg Losses
Polk High Cubs beat Osceola 50 to 35 in the Goldenrod Conference opener as Burdette Flodman led with 17 points and Mac Gleim added early scoring. Osceola’s Mouse Monson had 13 for the Bulldogs. Stromsburg defeated Polk 39 to 36 in a non conference game, with Kinberg scoring 11 for Stromsburg and Flodman leading Polk with 11. The Polk reserves lost 35 to 19 to Osceola. Rev. Edick Anderson agrees to wind down his Polk area farm and continue ministry with Hordville Baptist Church.
