Olson resigns Polk Free Church pastorate to take Chicago charge
Rev. M E Olson, pastor of the Evangelical Free Church for six years, resigns effective end of March to accept a charge in Chicago Illinois. He and Mrs Olson and their four children Marilyn Eugene James and Daniel will depart Polk with best wishes. The dedication of a new Hammond Electric spinet organ at the Polk church is set for January 22 at 3 PM with Arthur Bates of Table Rock Nebraska Wesleyan student and former Polk boy giving an organ concert.

The funeral for Mrs. Louie Kerker, 75, was held at Brauer Funeral Home with Rev. Westman of Lincoln officiating. Born in Germany, she moved to Polk as a child, married Ernest Kerker, lived in Lincoln since 1919, and died in Denver, Colorado. She is survived by daughter Esther of Lincoln. husband and eldest son Julius preceded her in death. Burial followed at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery southwest of Polk.

Funeral services for Frank O. Anderson father of Milton Anderson of Polk were held at the Baptist Church in Stromsburg Monday afternoon. Anderson 87 died in Los Angeles California. Surviving children include Mrs. Ernest Vincent Lincoln Mrs. Clarence Cash Benedict and Martin Anderson Lincoln. Interment was in Stromsburg cemetery.

Increase in car license fees boosts Polk County revenue
