Neuhaus a World War II veteran will run four nights weekly with Wednesday and Saturday program changes, coordinating with Chantry to secure later and better pictures.

Mrs Matilda Anderson of Providence Rhode Island and Mrs Minnie Larson were dinner and luncheon guests at the home of Mr and Mrs Arthur Larson. Mr and Mrs Lloyd Erickson and Sherill visited in Omaha with Mr and Mrs Gaylord Smith. Mr and Mrs Arthur Webbe of Palmer were Sunday dinner guests of Mr and Mrs Leo A Larson. Henning Carlson took Mr and Mrs Elmer Anderson and Theodore Anderson to Omaha where they departed for Moline Illinois. Christina Anderson died prompting family travel. Maurice Newcomer underwent an appendectomy in Lincoln General Hospital. C P Hutchens arrived from Pittsburgh to spend two weeks with his wife and son at the J L Olson home. Duane Underhill was hospitalized in Lincoln for malaria. Mrs Duane Underhill and Mrs Chester Underhill cared for him.

Delores Carman daughter of Mr and Mrs Harry Carman married Lee Snodgrass son of Mrs Mildred Snodgrass on Sunday January 12 in Hiawatha Kansas. The bride wore a grey traveling suit and was attended by Mrs Milan Snodgrass of Omaha. The groom was supported by his brother Milan of Omaha. Mrs Snodgrass is a Osceola High School graduate class of 1945 and has worked for the telephone company in Grand Island and Lincoln. The groom a 1943 Osceola graduate served three years in the Navy including time in the Pacific and is now at Wesleyan University in Lincoln.

Polk Teams Win Two Games Then Face Key Tests
P H S Polk swept Shelby 38 19 Tuesday and Benedict 62 20 Wednesday. The second team beat Shelby 18 12 but lost to Benedict 16 10. Upcoming tests include Osceola at Polk Tuesday in a conference game and a trip to Stromstrung Friday January 17. The first semester ends Friday January 17 with tests Thursday and Friday. Junior and Senior classes and teachers held roller skating events January 8. Sophomores also held an evening party. CALENDAR lists January to February basketball games and events including Albion Music Clinic and a Dramatic Play February 6, with games at Burg and Henderson.

Obituary: Mrs Emma Bodine of Polk County Passes
Mrs Emma Bodine 79 died Sunday January 10 after long illness. Born in Sweden October 24 1867 she emigrated to the United States as an infant and lived in Nekoma Osceola Clarks Stromsburg Swede Home before settling in Polk County. She married Oscar Bodine January 17 1892 and he died January 22 1933. Survived by son Harry and four daughters plus siblings, 15 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Funeral January 13 at 2 p m Kepner's Funeral Home and Swede Home Lutheran Church with Rev Franzen. burial at Swede Home Cemetery.

Anna Carolina Nelson Roslund 74 of Lincoln Nebraska died January 4 1947 after illness. Born near Weston Nebraska April 3 1872 she married Charles J Rosland in 1895. Survived by daughters Mabel Weaster Elvera and granddaughter Phyllis, sister Mrs Will DeLand, sister in law Mrs Ida Nelson, and two sons in law. Funeral held January 7 at Osceola Methodist Church with Rev Randall officiating. Interment Osceola Cemetery.

Both longtime Shelby residents, Taddiken is the present postmaster, who took charge of the Shelby post office this fall. They spent the weekend with relatives in Omaha and returned to Shelby to make their home.
