C G Jack is confined to his home by illness. Mr and Mrs Oscar Strand in Lincoln with their ten year old son Merle who had an appendicitis operation Thursday. Martin Dahlin and Carl Lind were York business visitors Wednesday. Anna Graves has returned from York hospital and is convalescing with her daughter Mrs Oscar Jones. The Anderson Furniture store moving stock to Stromsburg soon.

The Polk Boys and Girls basketball teams beat Rising City 26-23 and 14-11. William Crisp veteran of Civil War celebrated his 87th birthday with a bouquet from Methodist ladies.

Notice of Sale by Polk County Sheriff in 1935

Notice of sale issued by Polk County District Court in Nebraska follows a 1934 judgment for $521.02 plus interest and costs. The property, Lots 10 and 11 in Block 6 Original Town of Polk, is offered at public auction at the Osceola courthouse front south door on February 4, 1936, at 2 PM to satisfy the judgment and costs. Sheriff Gunnard Peterson announces the sale. A H Kidd of Mills & Mills represents the plaintiff.

Mrs Karl Detloff injured by a needle embedded in her hand during a mishap last week. The Standard Bearers Methodist Church group met at Vivian Dornburg’s home January 7 with thirteen members present. Leona McConnell led the lesson and Rev Pengelly spoke a brief talk. Melba Carlson performed a solo and hostesses served luncheon.
