Robert Sigler Moves to Osceola as Garage Business Begins

Robert Sigler and family plan to move to Osceola after his sale on January 19 where he will enter the garage business with his brother. Frank Wilcox clerked the past week in Martin Fisher’s store. The Shafer couple runs a jewelry and art shop in Dr. Westfall rooms. Polk reported the coldest town in the state with a low of 11 below.

Polk Progress publication fees and notice of postal status

The Polk Progress lists editor Norris W. Alfred and states it is entered as second class matter at the Polk Nebraska post office. Subscription rates are 4.00 per year in Nebraska 5.00 elsewhere 2.50 for six months 1.50 for three months and 1.00 minimum for card of thanks. Obituary poetry is charged 10 cents per line and display advertising 10 cents per line or 56 cents per column inch.

A string of neighborhood visits and dinners unfolds from Sunday to Tuesday as residents including Mr. and Mrs. Horstman Mrs. Nellie Peters and many others host family friends and celebrate birthdays. Methodist Church Observes Student Recognition Sunday

On New Year's Day the Methodist Church held a Student Recognition Sunday directed by Linda Kisler. College students home on vacation led morning worship with a high school choir offering a musical anthem and solo. Judy O Shea read names of students and servicemen, with Linda Eisler arranging the service.
