Dr. F B Slusser 81 retires from active practice after 54 years delivering 1300 to 1400 babies in homes and clinics. A Rush Medical College graduate of 1895 he served as Union Pacific assistant district surgeon 23 years and leaves a gift of 100 medical volumes to the University of Nebraska Medical Dept. He plans a vacation in 1950 and will continue a small home practice.

Obituary of Albert John Carlson from Stromsburg to Omaha
Albert John Carlson born November 14 1891 near Stromsburg Nebraska died December 20 1949 at 3303 Myrtle Street Omaha after a few months illness. He married Mable Lind October 3 1916. they had daughters Rachael Lorraine and Betty Jean. He farmed west of Stromsburg until 1943 then war work in Lincoln, moved to Omaha 1944 to work for the Omaha Board of Education. He joined Swede Plains Methodist Church later transferring to First Methodist Omaha where he remained active. He is survived by his wife and daughters three grandchildren three daughters in laws four sisters and three brothers. Funeral services were held at Stromsburg Methodist Church December 23 1949 conducted by Rev G A Randall assisted by Rev John W Ekwall.

Theatre flood damages seats and walls in village theatre
The Village theatre suffered flooding from a frozen water pipe thawing in the upstairs area. Leaks ruined many seats and damaged walls and ceiling, forcing purchase of 140 new seats.
