Polk Honors Easter Seal Child Jo Ella Stromberg in Lincoln Tea

Polk residents rally to support Nebraska Easter Seal Child Jo Ella Stromberg with a Meet the Child Tea at the Governor's Mansion on Nebraska Day March 1. Anna Wurtz created a red, white and blue dress for the event. Mesdames Rahrs Lampshire Sundberg bake cookies. 175 attendees expected. Polk High School Camera Club produced posters. Poor Turnout At Local and School Caucuses

Twenty two attended the school caucus and eighteen participated in the village caucus. School ballot nominees were Gerald Stevens incumbent Don Bjerrum Harold Anderson and Roger Merchant with Robert Willits declining renomination. Vacancy committee members are Karen Harrington Lauretta Neuhaus and Marsha Redman. Village ballot nominees include Dean Myers incumbent Ralph Redman Dick Harless and Dave Moore with Norris Alfred M. F. Stewart and Lloyd Stromberg on the vacancy committee.

Eagles’ Lynn Richardson led Benedict with 18. Polk advances to face Gresham Bulldogs next.
