Baptist Mission Circle Meets February 8

The Baptist Mission Circle met at the church on February 8 with devotional leader Mrs Emma Anderson. Mrs Oscar Jones presented the program Life in the Army, based on God’s invasion army. Freshman and sophomore girls from the high school performed special music. Mrs Martin Jones, Mrs Duane Miller and Mrs Wendell Shaw read clippings from a scrap book detailing its beginnings and organization. Guest hostess was Mrs Roy Glassen, Sr. Lunch and table decorations in Valentine motif were provided by Mrs Dean Lindburg, Mrs Don Bjerrum and Mrs David Moore.

Sunday Supper and Weekend Visits Highlight Central City Socials

Mrs Alice Best of Central City joined Mr and Mrs Larry Coover and Eddie for a Sunday supper. Saturday visitors at the Coovers included Mrs Stan Ford Ang Mrs Richard Alfred of Lincoln and Miss Connie Jones of Seward. Mrs and Mrs Don Scheapler returned Mrs Susan Gertsch to her home after a week’s visit with the Scheaplers.

Polk Methodist WSCS February Meeting Highlights

Polk Methodist WSCS met in the church in February with 29 members and several visitors present. President Mrs C. Marvin Fredrickson led the business session as Mrs Patten, Mrs Ollie Johnson and Mrs Richard Sealey Jr presented a program on Christian youth. The girls triple trio from the high school sang, and hostesses served lunch with a Valentine motif.

Mr and Mrs Edd Coover visited Mr and Mrs Lyle Widga on Friday evening. Mr and Mrs Paul Coover spent the weekend with Mr and Mrs Max Kroger in Sioux Falls South Dakota. Miss Jane Fredrickson of Lincoln was a weekend guest of her parents Mr and Mrs Marvin Fredrickson.
