Polk Cubs beat Nebraska Christian 55 48 as Loren Wilshusen Tom Stevens and Ken Carlstrom led scoring in a tight game. Craig LeBar Clark Ward kept NC close with long range baskets while Adamson's strong defense sealed the late victory. Gary Warden’s reserves won 42 22 in the opener.

Supt Walter Nielsen Hired For Polk School Year 1968 69

Walter Nielsen accepted a contract as superintendent for Polk Schools for 1968 69 at a Polk school board meeting. Contracts were offered to all current faculty with February 29 as the acceptance deadline. The board adopted a faculty salary scale prepared by a committee chaired by Lawrence Swanson after extensive negotiations.

Polk Girls Organize 4 H Club at Harrington Home

A group of 10 and 11 year old Polk girls met February 14 to form a 4 H club. Cindy Tewell was elected president, Susan Cramer vice president, Luann Bills secretary, Wendy Redman news reporter.
