Polking Around A High Jinks of Subscriptions And Rumors

The column riffs on petty trades and petty crimes as it notes a clipping of funds from a subscriber, jokes about barbers and printers, and rumors on Main Street. It mentions Ivan Johnson’s fishing haul, Lawrence Ackerman motorcycle chatter, and a surge of four new subscribers on a recent Saturday. It also references South Africa’s apartheid heart transplant context, military induction trips to Omaha for Eddie Johnson Alan Neuhaus and Billie Nelson, a Sioux Falls College punter prospect Max Kroger with Viking ties, and a planned wedding on February 23. The piece ends with a note about sampling delinquent subscribers and a wedding/50th anniversary plan for Dr C R Peterson and spouse.
