The Polk Cubs basketball teams went 1-1 in a busy four game stretch. The boys beat Osceola 64-45 on Friday then lost 60-55 to Hardville on Saturday. Vernon Tallman led with 18 points against Osceola. Tom Carlstrom topped the Cubs with 23 in the Hardville loss. The girls defeated Fairmont 39-27 on February 1 and improved to 7-4 with one regular season game remaining at Palmer on February 8, led by Michel Sandell with 16 points and Darla Sterns with 9.
