Home Builders Class of Evan gelical Free Church Hosts Social

On Wednesday evening February 1 the Home Builders Class of the Evangelical Free Church met in York with 24 attendees for supper and a social evening. Mr and Mrs Walter Stohl and Leilani Vance of Kearney with Gary of Lincoln joined Cheryl Stohl in Omaha Friday for a dinner in honor of Mrs Stahl s birthday. Mr and Mrs Edd Coover visited Mrs Roy Miller at York hospital Saturday. Mrs Miller transferred to Lincoln hospital Saturday afternoon. Rev and Mrs Koelling Mr and Mrs C O Bodine Mrs Emma Johnson Mrs Mary Nyberg were Monday dinner guests of Mr and Mrs Rudolph Nyberg in honor of Clarence and Rudolph s birthdays. Mr and Mrs Paul Coover were Saturday dinner guests of Mr and Mrs Edd Coover.

Dean Leigh Begins Marine Corps Officer Candidate School

Three New Pupils Enter Polk Grade School

Curtis Burney has enrolled in first grade while Bob Latta joins second grade and his sister Amy is in fourth grade at Polk Elementary School. The Burneys moved from Marquette to a farm east of Polk. Latta family arrived from York last week. Enrollment now stands at 195 in K to 6, up seven since fall.

Nebraska fulfilled its 1966 savings bond quota with 72 206 848 dollars in sales, confirmed by volunteer county chairman W. E. Johnson. Polk county reported 384 362 dollars in sales, achieving 97 percent of its quota.
