Miss Maude Wilcox age 65 died at her Arborville home after a two week illness Sunday night. She was born in Arborville on August 23, 1882 and lived there most of her life. Survived by sister Grace Wilcox of Arborville and five brothers William Calipatria Walter Wendell Howard Frank and Edson, all of Arborville. Funeral held at Congregational church Arborville Wednesday at 2 pm, Rev Pengelly of Polk officiating. interment Arborville cemetery.

Woman Dies Sudden at Emerald Farm Home
Mrs. Elsie M. Sundberg aged 33 died about 6 a.m. Monday at her farm two miles west of Emerald while alone. Husband Eugene Sundberg fetched a doctor. Dr. George Lewis arrived after death. They had been home from Stromsburg and Christmas with her father Charles F. Johnson. Deputy Sheriff Hassan investigated as coroner Towle would sign the death certificate.

Howard Peterson reports the Poll County Extension Service had its largest year, assisting 2 145 office callers and 1 572 telephone inquiries. The agency distributed 2 917 bulletins and conducted 1 355 total attendee meetings across 72 volunteer-led sessions. Four-H activities enrolled 276 youth with 550 in cooking clubs producing 2 237 dishes serving 2 737 meals. Grasshopper poisoning rose, with 125 tons of bait spread by 1 200 farmers, saving an estimated 610 000 dollars in crops.
