Mr and Mrs P E Shostrom of Stromsburg marked their 50th wedding anniversary with a noon family dinner at their home and an open house for 175 friends. Born in Sweden they came to America in childhood and have six children seven grandchildren.

Death of Thomas N Sloan in Stromsburg at 68
Thomas N Sloan died at his Stromsburg home at age 68 after a three week illness caused by a heart ailment. He moved to Polk County in 1886 and farmed near Stromsburg. Survived by wife and four children, two brothers, two sisters. Funeral held at Greens Chapel Methodist Church. burial in Hoffer cemetery.

Death of Dr Roy L Ludden Civil War era dentist Dodge Nebr
Dr Roy L Ludden 55 of Dodge Nebr died at home after five years of declining health. He practiced dentistry in Dodge from 1919 after Creighton University and served as a First Lieutenant in the Dental Corps during World War I. He is survived by wife Dora Holden and five children Ray, Dorothy, Barbara, Keene and Audrey. Funeral services were held in Dodge with burial in Central City cemetery and full military honors by Dodge and Central City American Legion posts.
