Twenty Five Turkeys to Be Won Saturday Afternoon
The Polk Commercial Club will give away twenty five turkeys next Saturday afternoon from the band stand on Main Street at 3 o clock or after. All ages are urged to register from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday in the Hotel lobby. Santa Claus visits Polk December 23 and will award a bicycle to the child with the lucky ticket.

Forty two members attended the Polk County Historical Society gathering at president Mrs Curtis Flodman home. A Christmas themed program featured slides of the Holy Land by Mrs Dwight Burney, organ duets by Lillie Chindgren and Mrs Everett Anderson, and a Germany Christmas Day anecdote by Enoch Ekstrand. The society received Mr Burney book Nebraska's Farmer Governor. A lunch was served by Allegra Johnson, Esther Fellows, Selma Nordberg and Mildred Flodman.

The Pork Woman's Club held a six o'clock luncheon at Kathy Brazda's home with red and gold table decor and red candles. Bertha Brazda and Mae Sundburg led a surprise program of Christmas recitations and duets followed by a short business meeting. Gifts from under the tree were shared and hosted coffee cake candy and cookies were served.
