Twenty Five Turkeys To Be Given Away Saturday
Twenty five turkeys will be awarded in a free drawing on Polk Main St at 3 p m this Saturday December 13. Registration for the drawing is in the Polk hotel lobby from 10 a m until drawing time. Polk merchants start guessing contests in their shops with prizes set by each merchant to be awarded Saturday December 20. Santa Claus arrives December 20 at 3 p m with treats for children.

Frank R Phillips born May 21 188 in Pike County Illinois died December 7 1969 in Moline Illinois. He moved with his parents to Nebraska as a baby and resided near Stromsburg Polk and Hordville until 1937 returning to Illinois. For 15 years before retiring in 1959 he ran Snappy Delivery Service in Moline. He wed Eva Thesing June 26 1912 at York Nebraska. Survived by daughter Mrs Walter Waters two granddaughters and one great granddaughter all of Moline. Preceded in death by wife Evelynne a daughter and his parents. Services and burial were in Moline Thursday December 11 1969.
