Engagement announced for Natalie Hahn and Keith Henry

Former Governor and Mrs. Dwight W. Burney of Polk Nebraska announce the engagement of Mrs. Burney’s daughter Natalie Hahn of Rome Italy to Keith Henry of Columbus Ohio son of Max Henry and Mrs. Cleon Henry of Indianapolis Indiana and former Covington Ohio residents. Natalie Hahn, a University of Nebraska graduate with a Master of Arts in Journalism from Ohio State, works in Rome as Home Economics Officer for Youth Programs for the FAO of the United Nations. Keith Henry holds a BA from the College of Wooster and a JD from Indiana University Bloomington, member of Pi Sigma Alpha and Phi Delta Phi, and has served as Personnel Director for Ohio State Auditor Roger Cloud. The couple will wed at St Paul’s Episcopal Church in Rome on Sunday December 27.

Polk High Welcomes First Exchange Student From Peru

Polk High will host Gustavo Rodolfo Troll Carbajal from Lima Peru for about 10 weeks as its first foreign exchange student. He is 16, has two brothers, and will stay with the Roger Hanquist family while attending Polk High and spending his summer in Polk before returning to Lima for university studies in March.

Dress Code Revisions Adopted by Polk Board

Polk School Board approves changes effective December 7 1970. Former rules allow student attire updates permit pant suits and dress slacks for grades 7 through 12 while jeans remain disallowed. Younger students in grades K6 may wear pant suits slacks and any tone of jean except blue jeans.
