Osceola Community Club held its annual 4-H recognition banquet on December 1. Stull Corner 4-H Club led by Arthur Deeter received the silver Loving Cup, and Jolly Workers 4-H Club led by Mrs. Arvid Peterson received 45H pins. County Agent F B Kelly reported on the year. Howard Peterson of Oakland, Nebraska was introduced as the new county agent.

Community News From Hordville Fraternal Gatherings and Local Visits
Hordville residents shared family time as Will Cohagan and relatives returned from Racine Wisconsin. The annual Father Son Banquet was held at the High School auditorium with Rev Jurgensen of Immanuel Lutheran Church delivering the address. Toasts were offered by Iver Ottergren Ralph Flodman and LaMont Jones Merlyn served as toastmaster. Ladies Aid of the Baptist Church met with Mrs Joe Johnson and Mrs Rudolph Gustafson hosting. Mr and Mrs Karl Stuermer entertained friends Sunday evening. A Baptist Church dinner honored Mr and Mrs Harold Jones and family as they prepare to move to Illinois. Out of town guests included Rev and Mrs Maey Mr and Mrs Lawrence Undberg and family Mr and Mrs Willard Lindburg and family, Mr and Mrs L P Jones Lawrence and Sherman Grand Island, Mr and Mrs Charles Jones of Columbus and Mr and Mrs Rueben Jones and boys of Strome. Harry Nelson returned to his old home after working in Illinois. Guests at Milburn Erickson’s Sunday afternoon were Mr and Mrs Raymoard Sundborg and daughters of Polk, and Mr and Mrs Alfred Jones. Polk Juniors Defeat Hordville On Local Floor
The Polk Juniors beat Hordville 30 to 15 on December 6 on the local floor. Polk used 19 men with Lindberg leading scorers at 14 points in limited minutes as the team earned its fifth straight victory amid a large crowd and the first use of the new Red and Black uniforms.
