Fall Irrigation Promises Larger Next-Year Yields

Fall irrigation stores water for next year by filling the root zone to field capacity. Moistens soil to six feet or more in established alfalfa, with soil type guiding timing and amount. Sand and shallow soils drain quickly, offering little off-season advantage. Contact Osceola soil and water district for maps and guidance.
