Polk Couple Observes Fortieth Fifth Wedding Anniversary

Polk County couple Miss Donna Gell and Dale Lindburg wed at Ong Methodist Church in a Sunday ceremony with a large reception. The 25th anniversary of Rev. Elwood Anderson and his wife was celebrated at the Hordville Baptist Church with a program arranged by Verna Erickson. Kenneth Storkman led a quartet and readings followed by remarks from R C Gustafson and Rev. G W Holmberg. The couple received gifts from church members and friends, with a reception in the church parlors and a display of wedding relics.

Harold Anderson joins Southern Pine maneuvers in North Carolina

Cpl Harold "Harry" Anderson, son of Mr and Mrs Oscar Anderson of Polk, arrives at Fort Bragg with the 28th Infantry to take part in the large Southern Pine exercise in North Carolina. The exercise runs through September 2 and includes the 28th Division which trained at Camp Atterbury before deployment.
