Local sports notes mix floods with Shrine Bowl chatter

Denver viewed column notes arid Colorado flooding in Fullerton and Grand Island while rain drenched Nebraska. Shrine Bowl selections include Don Sealey. Gregg McBride nears retirement. Senior Band tryouts and Bean Days rehearsals scheduled

Missed Senior Band tryouts are set for Monday August 22 at 7 00 pm in Mrs Cunningham s office. Drummers meet at 8 00 pm in the high school gym. Bean Days rehearsals run August 23 and 25 with possible Friday if needed. Fifth graders may join Beginning Band August 24 with a community meeting at 8 00 pm. parents must attend. Mr Shaw of Shaws Music will host an instrumental display and accepts used instruments at the meeting.

Nelson Reunion Picnic At Osceola Park

The Nelson picnic gathered August 14 at Osceola park with many relatives. A noon basket lunch followed by visiting and a business meeting. Officers elected included Ben Peterson as chairman and Mrs. Carol Nelson as Secretary and Treasurer. Out of town relatives Ira Glasser Nebraska City Gene Glasser Wood River Roy Nelson Clarks attended.
